Responsibilities: in Software Engineering
- Automate detection and response capability to scale the capacity of incident management.
- Develop Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) programs that can provide security.
- Integrate with other SOC tools, such as SOAR, SIEM, and ticketing systems, to automate the process end-to-end.
- Automate phishing remediation with a software engineering capability and security tools.
- Alerts should be fine-tuned to prevent as many false positives as possible and automate a response to alerts.
- Collaborate on issue resolution and remediation with SRE and other security teams.
- Run SIEM, among other things, to get more from the alerts. Continuously monitor security implementations in various Poshmark environments.
- Perform threat hunting to flush out malicious activities.
- Use Indicators of Compromise (IoCs) plus other data to enrich security information.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Required Skills & Experience
- College graduate, with the major focused on information security or software engineering
- Strong coding skills in one or more of the languages (Python, Go, Bash etc.)
- Strong interest in information security, awareness of existing threats, and best practices in security.
- Incident response security OS/system security knowledge: vulnerabilities, threats, actors, and IoCs.
- Act in conjunction with GitHub: Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Technical knowledge of the basics of networks and popular protocols currently used on the Internet, including DNS, SMTP, HTTP and HTTPS.
Preferred Qualifications: Software Engineering
- Experience with Incident Response, Malware Analysis, and Threat Hunting.
- Experience in SRE or DevOps/SecDevOps.
- Relevant certifications such as GCIA.
Key Accomplishments (6-Month):
- Identify detection and response use cases for automation.
- Assist SOC in building automations using the SOAR tool.
- Develop methods to extract phishing URLs from emails.
- Automate the submission of phishing URLs for remediation using security tools.
- Stay updated on the current IT threat landscape and security trends.
- Develop new high fidelity detections and Incident Response playbooks.
Key Accomplishments (12+ Months):
- Reduce Mean-Time-to-Detect (MTTD) and Mean-Time-to-Respond (MTTR) through automation.
- Continuously enhance Security Operations Posture by improving detections and maintaining Incident Response Playbooks.
