Citi is hiring an Officer for its AI Review and Challenge Group within Model Risk Management. You will independently assess and challenge machine learning and Generative AI systems across global business lines.
Who Can Apply?
- Hold a Master's degree or above in mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, data science, AI, machine learning, or a related quantitative field.
- Have 4 or more years of overall analytics experience in financial services or a related industry.
- Possess at least 2 years of focused experience working with Generative AI, Agentic AI, or machine learning.
- Bring hands-on technical knowledge of common AI and ML techniques and their limitations.
- Understand the risk, regulatory, and governance landscape relevant to AI systems in financial services.

What You Will Do as Gen AI Validator, Officer
- Model Reviews and Challenge: Conduct independent reviews and substantive challenge of AI and machine learning systems throughout their full lifecycle, ensuring risks are identified and communicated.
- Risk Policy Assessment: Assess AI and machine learning implementations against applicable risk policies, testing standards, and procedural requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage directly with AI developers, sponsors, governance teams, internal audit, and regulators to provide clear, evidence-based guidance.
- Methodology Enhancement: Validate and enhance methodologies used to measure and monitor risk across market, credit, and operational risk types with analytical rigour.
- Regulatory Examination Support: Prepare and contribute to responses for internal and external regulatory examinations with well-evidenced and clearly articulated findings.
- Framework Design: Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of risk frameworks and programmes governing AI systems at scale.
Skills Required:
Risk & Governance. Strong foundation in risk management lifecycle, policy compliance, regulatory frameworks, and credible challenge practices.
Analytics & Technical Skills. Hands-on understanding of machine learning techniques, Generative AI, data analysis, and analytical model validation.
Communication & Stakeholder Management. Ability to articulate complex technical model findings clearly to technical, risk, and non-technical audiences.
Basic Qualifications:
- Master's degree or above in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, data science, AI, or machine learning.
- 4+ years of analytics experience in financial services or related industries.
- 2+ years focused specifically on Generative AI, Agentic AI, or machine learning.
